I recently ran into someone in the gym that I haven't seen since I first moved to Rye about two years ago. He commented on how much bigger I am now then I was then.
That's interesting (to me) because I was about the same size when I was working out in Hoboken. When I was moving I let my membership expire at Empire Fitness (which was a great gym). I stopped working out for about three months, and in that time I lost so much musculature that when I first came to the Y and I commented to one of the trainers (who is a great guy) that the dumbbells only go up to 85 lbs., he asked "why do you work out?" I always thought that was funny.
That goes to show that I really need to work out regularly in order to maintain any physique. My genes are not that good (I think I'm the only one in my family that's in good shape).
Despite all the training and hard work, I think I've mostly managed to maintain over the years.
