Weights Vs Cardio and Body Goals

This is one of the most comprehensive analysis I've ever seen on the controversial debate over the benefits of aerobic versus anaerobic exercise, especially for the purpose of weight [fat] loss. Is is far more comprehensive, and I suspect accurate, than the CNN article that recently came out on the same topic.

Memorial Shindig

Just in time for my mom's birthday the Browncoats of NYC had a Memorial Shindig in her honor. A lot of her friends came and there was a lot of food and drink and stories. Leslie made a slide show of photos from past events. It was very touching. There was also cake.

The Lord Of The Rings

Last night Eason and I finished reading The Lord of the Rings. We'll probably read the Appendices and The Silmarillion next.

The Lord Of The Rings

Eason and I started reading Lord Of The Rings this weekend. He wanted to skip the prologue, but I wouldn't let him. Things picked up in Chapter 1.

Chronicles of Narnia

Last night I started reading the Chronicles of Narnia to Andi. (Of course Eason is listening.) I hope she likes it.

Judy Moody

I finished reading Judy Moody to Andi this weekend. I don't know if it was as good as Stink, but we all really like it, even Eason.

What Are Friends For? A Longer Life

In What Are Friends For? A Longer Life Tara Parker-Pope says:

In the quest for better health, many people turn to doctors, self-help books or herbal supplements. But they overlook a powerful weapon that could help them fight illness and depression, speed recovery, slow aging and prolong life: their friends.
Check out the entire piece in The New York Times.
